My Last Post

Hello Everyone,

I know I have been a bad cat for not writing you in a while, but I have been very busy with my life in my new forever home.

I have been lucky to have lived in three homes in my short existence.

My first home was with Don, a wonderful gentleman who took me in after my furr mom left and who gave me love and my first warm meal.

My second home was with the Bridlewood Animal Hospital. There I learned how to be a kitten; how to play, how to purr, how to cuddle up for affection and how to be a brat. I owe everything to my staff at the Bridlewood Animal Hospital. They gave me life, love and taught me how to be me. If it wasn't for them, I would never have found my forever home. There, at my hospital, I met my forever mom.

I met Mom. Mom is the type of mom that every kitten or cat dreams of. She's the type of mom that won't get mad at you for jumping on the counters and stealing treats, for waking up everyone in the house at three in the morning because your brother is taunting you. She's the type of mom that gives you unconditional love. Sure, I've had alot of mom's over the year; mom's that will cuddle you and give you kisses and treats. However, these moms go away at night. Mom doesn't. She gives me a warm comforter to cuddle on, a warm lap to sleep on. I thank every one of my staff for taking care of me but I thank them most of all for giving me Mom.

I know all my fans will miss me and I'll miss them too but I have trained my replacement well. His name is Jacob and he will be the forever cat at Bridlewood Animal Hospital. Be gentle with him and give him treats and cuddles. He's a friendly cat and he loves people. He isn't too fond of big dogs but he won't tell you that. He's ashamed. I know you'll all warm up to him eventually but please don't feel sorry for me. I'm having the time of my life with Mom.

Licks and purrs,

Lil' Joe.

In and Out!

When I see a kennel, it usually mean that I'm going somewhere. When I go somewhere, it's usually to Timothy's house or Kitty's house. Sometimes, cats that come to stay at my clinic have kennels of their own. I like to play in those ones. It's fun going in and out and in and out...I can spend minutes playing with kennels! Jacob, my roommate, likes kennels too. Here are some pictures of us playing with them. In and out and in and out and in .......

I don't even care if the kennels are occupied. Sometimes I climb right into them if their owners are still in them. And the minute a cat comes out of it's kennel, I'm right in their. The cats yell at me sometimes, especially the old ones, but I don't care. It's fun playing in them and smelling them. And some of these kennels have treats in them!!

Flop!

Many of you who have met me know that I'm a flopper. I just find a spot and flop down on my side and get comfortable. It could be a counter, a kennel or the carpet in my reception area. However, finding a nice soft spot to curl up beats flopping any day.

August

My dear public, I am sorry for not writing in a while. I have been so busy with my weekend getaways and my kitten classes and my disappearing acts. It has been a blur here. There are changes going on and I am caught in the middle of it!

My weekends are always full now. I either go to Timothy's house or I go home with my assistant Donna to Kitty's house. I am never by myself on the weekends. It's fun because I get to play with my friends and sleep on their beds and eat their food. Mmmmm, I love their food.

I have a roommate right now. His name is Jacob and he's a little kitten. He is from the same place that I'm from. I think he's by mother's sister's son's son twice removed. I'm teaching him all sorts of things, like how to scratch on the benches in my waiting room, how to scratch on the carpet and how to wait by the doors until someone opens them. He doesn't know how to do many things that a kitten should know. I just taught him how to groom himself and how to bury his "you know what" in the sandbox. He's a fun guy to have around but he's too young for me sometimes. He's still a baby and sometimes all he wants to do is play when I want to watch or sleep. He'll learn though. He owns our receptionist Shannon. I'll miss him when he goes to his new house.

My newest interest is the "outside". I see it when I go to Timothy's house or Kitty's house but I never get to walk in it or explore it. I've learned how to sneak out the front door when no one is watching or when my clients are bringing their owners in. My staff always run after me when I sneak out. I don't think they want me to go out by myself. It is a little scary for a guy like me but I'm just so curious - I can't help it! My staff will ask you to please make sure that I don't sneak out. I think it's best to listen to them even though I will give you the kitty cat eyes and beg with all my might.

My weekend getaways!!

My best friends name is Timothy. He lives in a house with a family. I don't exactly know what a family is but I think it involves some humans living together in a building. I think my staff are a family but they don't live in my clinic. They must all live together in another building.

I met Timothy along time ago when he came in to have surgery. He was neutered like me. We played a little bit before his surgery. He told me about his great family and about the food he gets to eat. He's a lucky guy. He invited me over for a sleep over and I said yes. Can't pass up the chance to explore new places and eat new food. His person came and picked me up the next weekend.
I go over to Timothy's house almost every weekend. I have lots of fun and Timothy and I play lots of games. His people are really nice and treat me really good - almost as good as my people do! When I come home on Monday I'm always tired and sleep all day. I can't wait until I can see Timothy next weekend.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Super Cosmo!!!

One of my nurses brought his feathered toy in to my clinic. He was taking it to a new home, one with lots of other feathered toys that it could play with. The toy made some weird noises and moved differently. My nurse brought it out of the metal box it was in and had it on his shoulder. It was fun to watch the toy. I think they were calling it a bird but I don't know what that is. I think it means grey feathered toy that makes noise but I'm not sure. I think I'm going to have to look it up in my cationary.

My Treats!

My receptionists keep my treats up high because they think that I can't reach them up there. Ha! Have I got them fooled. I have developed a fool proof method of getting my treats and eating them. I knock them off the counter onto the floor. This method stuns the treats so that I can eat them and they won't fight back. I am so smart!!!

The Animals

I'm hunting animals. Mostly lions. They're my favorite. My receptionist keeps them in a small baggie and she eats them too. I've never eaten an actual animal before. They taste different than my regular food. Hopefully I'll be able to hunt them again. They were good.

There are different methods of hunting when you are hunting different things. When I hunt the small "sample bags" of kitten food, it works best when I run and leap on them. When hunting my treats, I knock them off the desk. That way they're stunned and they can't fight back. When I hunt the animals, my receptionist holds them still for me so they can't run away. I like this hunting the best - it's easy.

My staff doesn't feed me enough so I have to hunt for food. My favorite is the bag of kitten food. It comes in a "sample bag". That's what my humans call it. I have to kill it before I eat it or it'll eat me first. It tastes really good.

Sam and Me

Sam is a new friend of mine. He belongs to one of our clients. I don't know what kind of dog he is but he's really fun and really nice. We had fun playing together on both our play dates. I hope he'll come back so we can have another play date.

Louis and I

One day Louis and I were playing together. We were wrestling and tumbling and having fun. Louis owns one of my nurses. He's called a Chinese Crested Powderpuff dog. Some of these dogs are hairless but Louis has a lot of hair. Even more that me!

Greyson

I made a new friend today. His name is Greyson and he's a Scottish Terrier. I guess he's from Scotland but he said he doesn't speak Scottish. He speaks animal. I wonder if he'll ever learn Scottish. His person had just taken him to the big dog place, where all the dogs sniff each others bums. Greyson said that he had fun but that the dogs were too big for him. He was wearing slippers on his feet! He says they keep his feet warm and keep the snow out from between his toes. I think they look funny. He was wearing three different pairs because he likes to take them off at the park and lose them. Silly Greyson.

We're playing boxing through the chair.

I'm hiding from him. Hehehe!

I'm telling him a secret.

Greyson's doing a trick called sit pretty.
I think it should be called sit handsome.

The x-rays!

One day last week I was a little bored. That happens sometimes. I don't always have something to do. I wandered around my clinic and asked what everyone else was doing. My nurse was going through old x-rays. An x-ray is a picture that we take with a big machine. It lets the doctor's see inside a dog or a cat without making a hole in them. The bones show up really white. It's really neat to look at x-rays. My nurse was taking out the old x-rays from when my doctor first opened my clinic. They were really old - seven years old! My nurse said that we only keep x-rays for seven years and then we give them away to someone who destroys them for us. I decided that she needed some help.
